Windsor

Today was another one of our free days! We ventured off to Windsor, which is where the Queen lives! We woke up this morning, met Brittany and Lily's at a cute breakfast place where I got a bread tin with toast and croissants, butter and jam with some English breakfast tea. Then we headed off to Paddington, which is where I stayed with my mom and sister last time I was in London. We were such big kids, figuring out our way around the train station and catching our trains and finding our transfers. We stopped off in Slough and ran across the platforms to catch our train to Windsor/Eton. The castle was literally right there when we left the station. We bought our tickets and grabbed these cell-phone type gizmos that we held up to our ears and played at certain sections of the castle. We walked through the court yard and around the mote area which was actually a garden, no water in sight. We walked through the royal quarters where there were tons of historical artifacts from paintings, to crests of knights, artillerary objects, and beautiful ceilings. Unfortunately I could not capture the inside of the castle on my camera because we weren't allowed, but I have pictures outside of it!

Me, Courtney, and Lauren then grabbed some toasties and dessert at a nearby cafe at the station and bought some souveniers. I bought an Oxford sweatshirt that matched Lauren's so we can wear it around and pretend we go there, plus later on we get to go on a day trip which I can't wait to do! We caught the train just in time and made our way back home I just finished working on a presentation that I have tomorrow morning so I think I'm going to pop in my instant curry noodles I bought from Tesco and see what the girls are up to!

Pip pip,
Leah

  1. hey! I just was able to catch up on your adventures in between studying for my next exam that is tomorrow! But I am all caught up and it sounds like London is lots of fun. You are making me hungry with all of the talks of food! Milk shakes? I might have to get one now lol. Now I can honestly say although you are not ready to come home I am ready for you to get here! :-) Hope the rest of your time in London is amazing! put pics up from the castle! Can't wait until your trip to Venice!
