This is what I wrote this morning: "Sorry about my delayed blog! I don’t want you all to miss out on the day I had yesterday! We travelled to Glendalough yesterday morning. We woke up early for breakfast and I scurried to buy a water bottle only to find out I had reached the wrong floor when I needed to make it to my room first. Finally I arrived downstairs and found that the whole group had disappeared! I ran outside to find the buses already loaded and Andy waving me down to run to the bus. I was in quite a fluster as I settled onto the bus and as we looked around we realized Brittany and Lily were missing! We tried to get them to delay but they began to pull away and we were all very upset because we were missing two important people of our group! I felt like every time I was on the bus I had passed out. Maybe it was the siren like voice of our tour guide or because the movement of the bus put me in an entrancing slumber. Before I knew it we had arrived and the view was absolutely amazing. I felt like I was in Lord of the Rings part IV! Everything was so amazing from all the trees to the mountain range in the background. We walked to the upper lake where the view was incredible. There were mallard ducks swimming toward us as we took pictures along the rocks in the water. Jenna accidentally slipped, dipping one foot in the water, and then she decided to dunk both feet in and wade around following the ducks. I took a lot of pensive-looking pictures and Stephanie, Darrel, and I took a very nice stroll back and ended up lying in the grass with others. The weather was PERFECT. Although it was nippy outside and my ears started feeling itchy from the cold biting at my lobes, the blue skies and sun made up for it. We stopped at Avoca where they make all kinds of woven goods. We got a tour of the Mill and there were a variety of colors of strings. We were starving so we grabbed lunch there where the food was homemade. I ordered the Sheppard’s pie and licked up every bite. Later on that night we all decided to eat dinner at a café called Cahoots and I grabbed a tikka chicken wrap. We played card games that night and visited the famous Temple Bar where they were playing American songs such as, Sweet Home Alabama. Everyone in the crowd was jumping around and singing along. We also went to Finnsimon’s where they also played American songs where we pounded our fists and sang along.
We had class this morning and we are off to the Guinness warehouse today. Tonight is our last night in Dublin, and tomorrow we are voyaging on to London! I am already planning out all the activities I want to do. I feel that I should be prepared when I get there! So excited!! Well off to catch some Z’s before I meet the crew for lunch. Pip Pip! Leah"
And present: Right now I’m enjoying an Irish Coffee with Isa and Stephanie. We just got back from the restaurant across the street from the hotel. The Guinness warehouse was interesting. I think my favorite part is pouring the perfect pint. We got certificates at the end so that was a good souvenir!
On the very top was what they called the “Gravity Bar” which overlooked all of Dublin. It was such a pretty view that we just had to soak it in rather than try and capture it on our cameras. Tomorrow we meet at 6:30 am to leave for London. We will be travelling ALL day. The ferry ride is 3 hours and the bus ride from Wales to London is 5-6 hours. It will be a very long day so I’m planning on sleeping the whole time. I must go take a nap and pack my things. I probably won’t be able to post for another day or two, but on a lighter note I talked to my friend who works at PGA and there is possibly an opening for me at the PGA tour internship program this summer! I guess things might work out after all!! Pip pip, Leah
