Journey to Londytown

We are FINALLY here! Today has been the longest day of travel. We all met at 6:30 am and got on the ferry. It was not what I expected, the boat was really nice and there was a whole room of comfy chairs where me, Britt, and Lily lounged in. I passed out the whole boat ride and while I was sleeping they played Star Trek on tv. The rest of our friends all took up a whole row of couch seating where they all fell into a deep slumber.

When we finally arrived in Wales we boarded our bus where it took us on a long winding journey. Of course, I fell asleep, as usual. I woke up to beautiful scenery of trees and mountain ranges. There was an area with vast mountain ranges, little cottages, and a big lake that I thought looked so amazing. I just wanted to make them stop the bus so we could take pictures. However, after I awoke from my sleep to catch a glimpse of what we were passing by I began to feel very motion sick. I had to go to the front of the bus and take some Dramamine to keep me from upchucking my breakfast.

We ended up stopping for lunch in a cute English town where we ate at a Tea Room. I had green tea with a crumpet (So English!), but I couldn't eat very much since I was still feeling sick. When we continued our journey I slept the whole way to London. Two Dramamine really does the trick! I woke up, squinted a little, and realized we reached our destination!

The dorms are small. We each share a room with someone else, and share a bathroom. However, we share a kitchen with four to six other people. There is a full kitchen with pots, pans, silverware, etc. but we just have to provide the food. University of Indiana is also here, so we are not the only Americans. I forgot how much I disliked dorm life. We all have to cram ourselves into these tiny spaces and have to share our personal space with others. I will make the best of it though!

The girls and I headed to the market to buy breakfast and lunch food. Me and Lauren grabbed dinner afterwards and we could not have been more American: Hamburgers with American Cheese with a side of onion rings and french fries (chips), not to mention to the milkshakes. It was very delicious though, so I can't say that I regretted it.

Tomorrow we have orientation and then a half-day guided tour! Very excited to begin my escapades in London!

Pip pip,
Leah
