2 days, 2 shows, good times!

I have to catch up on two days worth of blogging because I was too lazy to update yesterday so here it goes!

Yesterday was first day of class. I took the one hour trek to school, I felt like I belonged a little bit. Me, Brittany, and Lauren M. had our presentation which went very well! We were in the upper hall of ULU (University of London) for class and the room is big and echo-y, and we only have about 16 people in our class so it was awkward to present to a half empty room.

Me, Lily, and Lauren hung out in the lounge area downstairs until everyone got out of class. We headed to a cafe in the middle of Russel Square which was delicious, filled with Italian food and pastries. We went to the British Museum afterwards and took a gander at a room or two and met our classmates for a history lecture on London that lasted for.. almost 3 hours! We were all very tired and headed back to the dorms to get ready for Mama Mia.

We went out to dinner in Piccadilly Square and headed off to the show JUST in time. We thought we were going to be the late ones, but a million of our classmates showed up after we arrived so we felt better about being fashionably late. The show was interesting, I've seen Mama Mia twice already and I think my favorite version still lies in America.

The a whole group of us when to a place called Roxy for Mallory's birthday. Very scene I would say. I enjoyed the Madonna, Whitney Houston, pop and hip hop mixture of music the DJ was spinning. We caught a bus home and I had to wake up very early for class this morning.

After class I killed time at the British Museum reading up on good eats in London at the gift shop. I found a dim sum place in Chinatown and picked up Britt after class and I navigated our way there all by myself! I was so proud. We ate at a restaurant called Imperial China and we ordered taro cakes, bbq pork bun, sticky rice, and shrimp dumplings and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely cured my dim sum craving.

We then headed off to West Minster Abbey and stumbled across Big Ben on the way to take awkward photos in front of it. We then observed all the graves/memorials in West Minster and all the sudden me and Brittany felt very tired. We had to it down and take a second to catch up again, and afterwards Brittany informed me that in her witchcraft class she took in UF that when you are in a place with a lot of spirits that your body will get overcome by them and you will get really tired. So we were convinced that for those few minutes we were exhausted that we had been taken over by spirits, haha.

We met up with Lily and Lauren and headed back to the dorms to relax. I fell asleep in the common room and awoke just in time to get ready and head to Lion King. The Lyceum theater was where it was held and the interior was gorgeous! The show was amazing and I recommend it to everyone! I loved the way they used their costumes to personify animals, I loved their set, and I loved singing along!

That pretty much covers both of my days. Tomorrow we have class. I plan on heading to Hyde Park with my friends to hire bikes so we can ride them around until we have to meet for our Study Abroad group games. I am on the Ravenclaw team! (We have four teams, and all of them are the different houses from Harry Potter) Then I am going to do a little shop shop, eat some Yo! Sushi (sushi revolving around a table on a conveyor belt and you choose what you want), and then see where the night takes me. I am excited for Venice this weekend!

I'm going to catch a good nights rest!
Pip Pip,
Leah
