Dia duit! Cen chaoi a bhfuil tu? Ba mhaith liom about my day! Translation= Hello! How are you? I would like to tell you about my day! Today we headed to the Aran Islands for our day trip.
It was quite lovely! We went and saw an old fort that dated back 2500 years ago about 500 b.c. I think I need to work out because I was very winded by the time we reached the top. It was so peaceful and beautiful I felt like I was on top of the world up there. We also rode around in mini vans and the islands have a population of 800. There were stone block fences EVERYWHERE which have been there for hundreds of years that represented property lines. There was a little beach and mountains in the background and my pictures definitely do not do it justice. We also saw a very old graveyard and church that had been there in the 1600s? Or was it 1700... I guess I'll have to do my research! We ate lunch at a really cute cafe that served home made food and I got the beef stew which was DELICIOUS.
We got to hang out and take pictures of us looking really sad with sweaters which is a story I will have to explain another time but I will post the pictures and you will know what I am talking about. I want to post videos to explain more of what I saw today so I will! We just got done with group dinner and are headed out on the town tonight. Last night was a blast with my study abroad family and irish were really nice! We felt like we were in an american bar opposed to an irish one because they were playing Usher and Lady Gaga etc. So I guess it is comforting, they must love us americans :) I will write tomorrow hopefully! One more day left in Galway, first day of classes tomorrow and day trip to cliffs of Mohr. So excited!
Pip Pip!
